Originally, the property belonged to the Maharaja of Coochbehar.  Conveniently located, this hotel too is very much a part of the town’s colonial history. The viceroy Hotel on the other hand is quite new. Established in 2000, the hotel has nine floors in all. There are also two categories of rooms; i.e. Executive Rooms and Attic Premium Rooms scattered over all these nine floors. The latter category of rooms is mostly paneled by pine wood and hence they seem warmer and prettier. The executive rooms are on the other hand good, but their walls are simply painted with beautiful pastel colors.

Cedar Inn, built in 1999, is located on the Jalaphar hills. This is the only 4 star hotel, which is located away from the heart of the town. However, the inconvenience caused by such off-beat location is compensated by the serenity as well as scenic views it offers.
